Nail Art: Football Tips

Are you ready for some football!?

I’m sorry…I couldn’t help it! Both the college and pro football seasons are right around the corner and I couldn’t be more excited. To celebrate the occasion it only seemed right to do a little nail art.

To create this manicure I did the same DIY Velvet Manicure as I did for my Tennis Ball manicure. I used Essie Mojito Madness as a base and lime colored flocking powder to create the “grass”. Once I did the velvet manicure I used a Q-Tip with acetone to remove the green on my pointer finger so I could add a football. Color Club Charity Ball is a perfect football color!

I realize this isn’t the most wearable manicure. So, below the jump I did a more wearable version. There are also more swatches below the jump!

Are you excited for football season? If so, what teams do you cheer for?

Super Bowl XLVI Manicure: China Glaze – Frostbite

My turn for Super Bowl nails!  Alli decided my assignment was NY Giants Blue.  I think the most perfect blue might have been Dating a Royal that I shipped off to Alli – but Frostbite works just as well 🙂

Actually, this is my go to Duke blue – and I wore it when they won the National Championship in 2010 – and have been meaning to post it since then – oops! I digress…

Well here she is! Frostbite was originally a part of China Glaze’s Winter 2007 Ski Collection.  I used four coats to get this look – you can do 3 but it darkens up a bit with four.I took a picture using my new lightbox – which I am super excited about. I won’t post the details, it’s pretty much the same as Alli’s lightbox  but I may post a picture of it in the future.

Who are you cheering for tonight? Anyone else love that Alli’s Patriot’s Red is called I <3 NY?

Have fun and be safe! I’d love to hear what you wore on your nails this evening!
