petites COLOR FEVER – Raspberry Ice

Raspberry Ice was my second experience with petites COLOR FEVER and it was fantastic!

This is the first time I’ve tried out the new bottle/cap style and I really like it – it’s easier to manage than the old style (see Alli’s post on Vintage Gray for more on the caps).

Raspberry Ice certainly has a  few things going for it: the color is bright and vibrant – it’s a very glowy polish which is somewhat rare in drugstore polishes and I love that. It also has the potential to be a one coater if you’re careful – I used two coats here. The color itself is not all that unique, but if you have a bright fuschia pink void in your collection, I’d definitely recommend Raspberry Ice. I see this color wearing well in pretty much every season except spring and it will definitely be spending some time on my toes.

Background Info: In case you didn’t know- petites COLOR FEVER falls under the CQ Cosmetics umbrella which includes 4 lines: petites, petites COLOR FEVER, CQ Intense Color, and Chameleon Polish. These polishes are available at Rite Aid but ALSO available on the CQ Website with (wait for it) FREE SHIPPING to the continental U.S. – which is absolutely fantastic for those of you without a Rite Aid near by!

Let me know if you’d tried any of these polishes and what you think! We have more to show from CQ in the near future!

Happy Monday!

petites COLOR FEVER Vintage Gray

Petites COLOR FEVER isn’t a brand I am overly familiar with. The only other polish I’ve tried from this line is Black Diamond, which happens to be one of my favorite black polishes. Being that this is only the second polish I’ve tried from the brand I wasn’t really sure what to expect but my expectations were on the high side since I had such great luck with Black Diamond. Vintage Gray didn’t exactly meet those expectations but I’m not disappointed in this polish either.

Vintage Gray is a light gray creme. There is nothing particularly special about the color but I do think it is lovely! The formula is a bit on the thin side so I did use three coats in my swatches.

Since purchasing Black Diamond the petites COLOR FEVER line changed their bottles. The brush itself didn’t change but the old bottle did have a shorter handle. I like the way the new polish lid feels in my hand and I do think it’s easier to apply. That being said, I think the old bottles were prettier! There are pictures comparing the two below the jump.

As far as I know the only place to purchase this line in stores is at Rite Aid though petites COLOR FEVER is manufactured by CQ cosmetics so they can also be purchased on the CQ website.

There are more swatches plus new and old bottle shots below the jump! I’d love to hear your thoughts on the new bottle shape and any of your must have polishes from this brand!

Black Friday: petites COLOR FEVER Black Diamond

Last night in our Thanksgiving dinner induced food comas Katie and I were chatting and she suggested we do black nail polish posts for Black Friday. I thought that was genius plus it gives me an excuse to wear one of my favorite black nail polishes!

My first thought was to pull out OPI Light My Sapphire….but I wore that recently so I settled on Black Diamond. I, for one, think Black Diamond is a perfect Black Friday manicure. It’s not a true black, it’s more charcoal, but the scattered holographic captures the crazyness of this day perfectly!

For a ton more info on this polish check out this post. There is a macro shot below the jump.

Hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving and a happy Black Friday!

petites COLOR FEVER – Periwinkle

petites color fever - periwinkle I’ve had this one for ages – at least six months – but Alli’s post on Black Diamond inspired me to get it out and try it.

Overall? Great experience. I only needed two coats. Despite it’s name, it’s a very pretty dusty lavender/slate blue (depending on the lighting). I took this picture on a cloudy day – so this is color accurate indoors – in sunlight it’s a bit lighter and it appears more purple.

It reminds me a lot of a lighter and more purple version of Kelly by Zoya.

You can get the petites COLOR FEVER line at Rite Aid for 3.99 for .25 oz.

This one is a winner in my book.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!!

petites COLOR FEVER Black Diamond

petites COLOR FEVER Black DiamondThis is a polish I have been wanting for ages! I never picked it up because the price of it was quite ridiculous. This brand is sold only at Rite Aid (I think…) and retails for $3.99 for .25oz. Pretty ridiculous for a drugstore polish, right? Well, this is currently on clearance for $.99. Even if your Rite Aid doesn’t have a clearance sign for this color, it will ring up as being on clearnace.

Anyway, Black Diamond is a charcoal gray polish with scattered holographic microglitter. Basically, this is the black/charcoal version of the version of OPI My Private Jet that I have. Application was great, it applied easily in two coats.

As far as the holographic glitter in this polish goes, it’s scattered and not IN YOUR FACE holographic. This is a toned down version of Color Club Revvvolution.

This is the kind of holographic polish I like. I don’t like linear holographic polish nor do I like crazy super obvious holographic polishes, either. So this is perfect for me. Especially for $.99!
