I’m back with an update.
I emailed a link to my post last Friday regarding the lip problems that the EOS lip blam caused. They responded in a timely manner (especially considering the amount of emails they must currently be getting!). There’s a copy of the email under the jump.
Just a little update on my lips. I would say they are 90% back to normal. I actually got to wear lipstick for the first time in ages over the weekend! I was so excited to be wearing lipstick again I even bought myself a new lipstick (CoverGirl Bombshell Pink).
Anyhow. So far I’m pleased with EOS’s response to my personal issues. We’ll see if they follow through with what they promised in the future!

This post has absolutely nothing to do with nail polish. But it’s a beauty (and health!) related matter and if it helps one person avoid what I’ve been through the last 2+ months then it’s worth it.
I’ve been an EOS lip balm fan for ages. I’ve gone through quite a few of the cute little spheres and generally keep one by my computer.
Last October after not having an EOS balm for ages I decided to pick one up to send to Katie as part of her Christmas gift and also picked one up for myself. I got the Summer Fruit (aka the red one) because it’s my favorite. I put the new balm beside my computer and didn’t think anything about it.
The next 2 and a half months were a series of odd events revolving around my lips I couldn’t figure out. And didn’t connect to a product until a week ago.
Currently there is a class action lawsuit against EOS (Evolution Of Smooth) claiming EOS lip balm can cause skin damage. Here’s an article from time.com about the suit.
A pretty detailed account of what I like to call the worst 2 months of my lip’s life can be found under the jump.
Trust me y’all, throw away those EOS lip balms!

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone is surviving/did survive the Christmas holiday. I host Christmas Eve dinner which means I do nothing on Christmas day. I just show up. It’s great.
This is going to be a super quick post. My Christmas manicure this year is pretty simply. I used OPI Jade is the New Black and essie Private Weekend as my base colors. Then I topped all my nails with Orly Sashay My Way.
I wore a red dress so I didn’t include any red in my manicure. It worked out nicely.
There are a few swatches under the jump.

Two days, ladies! Odds are you already have your perfect Christmas polish picked out. But if you don’t, have no fear! Katie’s Lazy Girls Guide to Christmas Nails is here!
You guys already know that I only do ultra simple nail art that would only sometimes even be called nail art by other people. For me, nail art is when I add anything extra. A nail vinyl, some glitter, polka dots, etc. So whether you’re looking to dress up your current mani, or come up with a fool-proof easy look for the holidays, you’re in the right spot.
I loved Alli’s Lazy Girl’s Guide to Halloween, so maybe it’ll become a thing around here. Oh! Make sure to check out Alli’s Must Have post for Winter 2016!

Winter is no longer coming. It has arrived.
Today marks the winter solstice officially ushering in winter. It’s been unseasonably warm in Charlotte this fall but we’re supposed to have winter. I am bracing myself.
The good news is, as always, there are some pretty nail polish trend to get us through the cold winter months. My top 5 current polish trends are listed under the jump.
Let me know if I missed a trend!

I don’t know if you’ve heard but Halloween is coming. Soon. Like this week. On Saturday.
Usually I am all in on Halloween. I have done a post on about every nail art possible for this holiday. But, this fall has been unusually busy and I just haven’t had time to be into Halloween. Since Halloween is on a Saturday this year my costume is literally wearing some tiger ears while my Auburn Tigers play Ole Miss. Yep. Lazy.
To help out all the other lazy girls out there I thought I’d do a post full of ridiculously easy manicures that look festive and like you care. Not that I don’t care but you get what I’m saying.
Ideas under the jump!
If you are up for trying some Halloween nail art that is a bit more complicated I’ll link a few of my favorites in the related posts section.
If I decide not to be SUPER lazy I may do tiger nails for Halloween. But I wouldn’t count on it…

Hey fall! I have missed you.
This past weekend I went to Wilmington and while I had a great time and Wilmington is absolutely stunning I have had my fill the North Carolina coast for the year. I am ready for cooler weather and changing leaves!
2015’s fall color palette is earthy and full of neutrals. But have no fear! There is a bit of color to balance all that earthyness out.
Under the jump you will find my top 5 color picks for fall 2015! Make sure to leave a comment with the polishes you’re looking forward to wearing this fall.

When I’m scrolling through my Facebook feed I’m not exactly looking for nailspiration. But, as it happened, one day I was scrolling through Facebook and saw a sponsored Julep post. Granted, usually sponsored FB posts just get on my nerves but this one…I just loved the manicure. So much so I had to recreate it myself (with a little bit of Alli spin, of course).
What I initially loved about this manicure was it was all neutral colors but it was still interesting and different. I decided to take it a bit further and make each color have a different finish.
In my recreation I used SinfulColors Whiteboard (demi-matte finish), Julep Sienna (metallic) and OPI Berlin There Done That (creme). Otherwise I just followed along with the inspiration photo.
I was happy that I loved this manicure as much as I thought I would. I’ve never had so much fun wearing neutral colors!
Make sure to check out the swatches under the jump.

Happy 4th of July!
I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend. I’m spending the weekend at home in Charlotte. There’s just something about summer in the city that I love.
Anyhow, today we are having a cookout at my Mom’s house and we are going to see fireworks tonight so I wanted to have some appropriate nails.
The idea behind this manicure is to mix different textures to create a manicure that looks way more complicated than it is.
I used 3 different finishes in this manicure; shiny, matte and textured. For the shiny nail I used Color Club Frozen Daiquiri and for the textured blue nail I used OPI Wharf! Wharf! Wharf!. On the three white nails I used SinfulColors Snow Me White topped with a coat of Finger Paints Red, White and Hue and essie Marshmallow. To get the matte finish I used Pure Ice Frost Finish top coat. And viola, I’ve got myself an interesting, patriotic manicure.
There are more swatches under the jump.

I don’t know about y’all but I am so ready for the holiday weekend. Because we went to the beach last week I’m going to be staying in Charlotte for the long weekend. The boy and I are going to take in a baseball game and watch fireworks at my favorite uptown park.
But, I know how hectic things can be leading up to a long, holiday weekend. So, if you don’t have time to do full blown flag nails or one of the gazillion patriotic nail art ideas in my ultimate patriotic nails guide I have got you covered.
This manicure is simple; it involves absolutely no nail art. But, it looks super patriotic and fun. I used the American flag as inspiration.
For the blue nails I used essie Style Cartel and topped that with deborah lippmann Va Va Voom. I kept the red (Color Club Frozen Daiquiri) and white (SinfulColors Snow Me White) nails plain which added some contrast from the blue nails.
If you’re crunched for time (or simply just don’t want to spend a lot of time on your nails…) this manicure will do the trick!
Make sure to check out the swatches under the jump.
