I was so caught up in my excitement for the new 2015 Zoya Matte Velvet Collection that I forgot I still had one of the originals to swatch!
Veruschka is a gorgeous emerald green – perfectly festive for the holiday season. There is so much shimmer and sparkle in these polishes to help create the beautiful Matte Velvet finish, that I almost wanted to put a top coat on right away. But I didn’t and in a couple of minutes I was reminded why I adore this line – the finished look is so lovely.
I used two coats over a base coat – Wet n Wild Matte Top Coat – to give me a nice even canvas to work with. These dry quickly so you want to work fast but I absolutely recommend a little extra wait time between coats. You really want to make sure each coat is dry before applying the next.
From the original Matte Velvet Crew I have: Posh, Dovima, Savita, and Veruschka. I haven’t caved yet, but I really want Harlow. But then I’d need Loredana to complete the set. As far as the 2015 Matte Velvets go: I really liked Aspen and I have my eyes on Yves and Sue since they they are so new and different. If you’re interested in swapping let me know!
The MV polishes officially retail for $10. You can purchase Zoya polishes directly from their website. They have the best specials! I found the 2014 Matte Velvets AND 2015 Matte Velvets on sale for $8.50 on ebay + free shipping. Ulta is always a good bet, especially if you have a coupon.
