butter LONDON – Artful Dodger

butter LONDON - Artful DodgerI’ve had butter London on the brain ever since Alli posted Lady Muck last week. It’s a brand I love, really love. It’s also a brand I’ve ignored lately. The $15 price tag is a bit steep for me; I think the last butter LONDON polish I purchased was Jaffa and it was on clearance. Though, if you missed that post, please go read the comments. I try to use the word extravent as often as I can when catching up with polish pal Haley from Polished at Heart.

I first reviewed this in 2010 (!) and my feelings haven’t changed at all. Five yeas later, Artful Dodger still has a lot of things going for it. There aren’t many polishes I’d consider using year round, but I can wear this any day. It’s bright enough for summer, gives a nice pop of color in winter, and has just the right amount of dustiness to make it a perfect transitional polish.

I used three coats. I’m definitely going to put this pretty back in rotation. You can grab Artful Dodger for $15 on the butter LONDON website, at Ulta, and Macy’s (to name a few).

  1. Looks perfect with your skin tone. I love Butter London, so I’m glad they’re back on your radar. I agree, the price tag is not attractive… but their website does run lots of sales and specials. My fave BL shade is “Two Fingered Salute”… totally gorgeous, and I’ve never seen anything even close to a dupe. It’s another “all season” find, like Dodger.

  2. Love butter londons! So many brands in my stash that I often forget how easy bLs are to work with, and nice looking. Many times they go on sale on Hautelook, for half price and I add a few more to the stash. Their glitters are my favorite- so unique and underrated. I think the best seasonal transition bL I have is Toff.

    1. Right? They’re just so easy!

I don’t pay as much attention to Hautelook as I should – but now I certainly will 🙂

I just looked up Toff – GORGEOUS. Thank you for mentioning it!
