Summer 2015 Must Have Polishes

Summer 2015 Must Have Polishes The Daily VarnishSummer is here and it is letting Charlotte know it! This past week has been insanely hot. Watermelons are out at the farmers market. And summer concert season is in full swing.

That means it’s time to transition from spring polish colors to summer. I’m actually pretty excited about the summer color trends this year. It’s the first time in years that neon isn’t dominating summer color palettes.

Under the jump you will find my top 5 summer polish colors and polish recommendations for each color category!

Sally Hansen Life's a Peach1. Peach: When essie calls their summer polish collection ‘Peach Side Babe’ you know peach is going to be a huge trend. essie Peach Side Babe, the namesake for the collection, is a fantastic peach polish. But my personal favorite is Sally Hansen Life’s a Peach.

Orly Key Lime Twist2. Chartreuse: I got really into chartreuse last summer but this year it is right on trend. I have two favorite releases for chartreuse; essie Chillato and Orly Key Lime Twist. Chillato is a more subtle, almost pastel option while Key Lime Twist is a bright option. Sally Hansen Chartreuse Chase and deborah lippmann Spring Buds are chartreuse polishes that might already be in your collection.

essie Salt Water Happy3. Aquamarine / Scuba Blue: I’m lumping all the shades of blue that are on trend for the season into one category. Basically, if your blue polish is on the lighter side but not neon you are doing good. For a more pastel blue I’m really loving essie Salt Water Happy. If you want a brighter blue check out Sally Hansen Dive Bar; I’ve been living in that polish!

China Glaze Red-y To Rave4: Bright Red: It’s no secret I love a good red manicure so I’m really loving all the bright red polishes this summer. My favorite new release is China Glaze Red-y to Rave and is on the orange side of red. Another option is deborah lippmann Don’t Stop Believin (or check out wet n wild Nuclear War; a dupe for Don’t Stop Believin’).

Barielle Confetti5. Matte Glitter: No, not technically a color but matte glitter is EVERYWHERE and I’m loving it. My love of matte glitter started with Barielle Confetti but has continued with new releases from SinfulColors like Baila Baila and Color Tag.

  1. I love matte glitter for summer! It just looks so great over bright colors. I love the ones China Glaze put out with the Electric Lights collection.

    1. My love for matte glitters is a fairly new thing but I am loving playing around with different combos. Absolutely perfect for summer.
