Last week I was having a day. You know… one of those days, when nothing in particular is wrong, but it’s just UGHHHH. I was weepy on my way home from work and just a hot mess if there ever was one. But…. as I climbed the stairs to my apartment, I saw a box waiting outside! Alli mail! Yessss! I love getting things in the mail, seriously. I’m like a little kid on Christmas morning. Mixed in with some other goodies were some Pure Ice & Barielle polishes!
I’ll be honest, when I saw Dollface I groaned a little (on the inside). I don’t know what it is about this color, but I would never buy it on my own. But Alli keeps sending it (NYC Sweet Melon & JulieG Old San Juan) and I keep liking it.
Dollface is a light pastel peachy orange or….an orange sherbet creme or….dreamcicle/creamcicle orange. The application was SO much better than I thought – I was anticipating a streaky, thin, runny situation – but I was wrong! I ended up using three coats to get a nice opaque look. My only complaint is that it’s not self leveling and you can see some layering where I wasn’t careful on my second and third coats. Otherwise, good polish – great price.
Pure Ice isn’t a brand I’ve paid much attention to lately, but they did release some new polishes in their New Year, New Hue collection and Alli has already reviewed most of them – seriously though, I think she puts Poppin’ Bottles on everything and the trio of Color Tints are pretty cute.
Pure Ice polish is only available at Walmart and they retail for $1.97.
