The summer 2015 Peach Side Babe collection from essie has landed. And the colors look so lovely! I couldn’t wait to start swatching. Of course, I figured the first polish I’d try was the namesake for the collection.
Peach Side Babe is a lovely coral (or peach) creme. This can look orange but it’s a bit deceiving; when compared to anything orange Peach Side Babe looks very pink.
The formula is fantastic. I used just two coats in my swatches and I found the formula to be easy to work with.
While I was wearing this I thought it looked very similar to essie Serial Shopper which is from last summer’s Too Taboo neon collection. They are quite similar (especially in the bottle) but Serial Shopper is not an exact dupe of Peach Side Babe. Peach Side Babe is softer and has more pink. The finishes are also different; Peach Side Babe is a regular creme where as Serial Shopper has a jelly finish.
Another essie polish that is similar to Peach Side Babe is Tart Deco. I don’t have Tart Deco so I couldn’t do a comparison that included Tart Deco but I did include a side by side swatch of Peach Side Babe and Serial Shopper under the jump.
Anyhow, I really love Peach Side Babe. It’s quite flattering and easy to wear.
Also worth noting this is the first essie collection that’s available in its entirety in essie’s gel formula. I’ve never tried the essie gel but worth knowing if you get gel nails in a nail salon.
Make sure to check out the swatches under the jump!
