Hello, hello! It’s Monday again and spring is in full swing! With April showers doing what they do so well, I’m back to craving more the earthy, neutral, and dusty transitional polishes. So when I went digging through my Melmer, I grabbed a little gem from Kiko, Olive Drab was a perfect pick for a rainy Sunday.
Olive Drab is anything but drab. Actually, I wouldn’t really say it’s olive either. More accurately, it’s a dusty teal creme. It reminds me of the ocean on a cloudy, foggy morning. Application was really fabulous. I started off with my go-to base coat du jour: Barielle Nail Rebuilding protein, added two coats of Kiko and finished it off with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Fast Drying Top Coat.
I have yet to have a bad experience with Kiko. The downside is availability. However, the Italian based company is starting to expand into the US and currently has several stores in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. There’s also a store in Miami. You can head over to www.kikocosmetics.com to see if there’s a store near you! In addition to nail polish, they have a wide range of cosmetics and I have lusted over almost every single one of their Limited Edition collections. Right now I’m crushing on Modern Tribes.
