Y’all, my nails hate me right now. Currently I’m doing 2 major home improvement projects. I took the wallpaper down in my bathroom (that was fun) and I’m updating the cabinets in my kitchen. Which of course meant taking everything out of the cabinets. To say the least my nails and cuticles are SUFFERING.
So, I’ve been trying to give my hands and cuticles a little extra TLC. The Peter Lamas Spa Sensuals Rejuvenating Hand Scrub and Intensive Repair Hand Cream are products that were sent to me. Admittedly, prior to receiving these products I’d never heard of Peter Lamas. This is the part I share with you what I learned about the company.
Peter Lamas is a company that focuses on fusing the best of nature and science to create products that are effective yet don’t have harsh, irritating ingredients. Peter Lamas has an extensive range of hair products and skincare that can be found at drugstore.com, natural food stores (like Whole Foods or Earth Fare) and salons. To find Peter Lamas products in your area check out the handy store locator.
It is worth noting that Peter Lamas products are made in the USA, environmentally friendly, 100% vegan and paraben free.
Under the jump you will find my review of each of these products.

Rejuvenating Hand Scrub: I’ve used several hand scrubs in the past and always loved how soft they left the skin on my hands. The Peter Lamas Rejuvenating Hand Scrub does a better job than any of the previous hand scrubs have tried.
The texture is very gritty as it is made from natural sea salt crystals. My skin isn’t particularly sensitive so I can be fairly rough with this product. I scoop a small amount of the Rejuvenating Hand Scrub out of the tub (maybe the size of a quarter) then massage it into dry hands making sure to pay attention to the cuticles and knuckles (where my skin gets most dry). Then I simply rinse the product off and a plethora of oils leave my hands soft and moisturized. I can’t even articulate how good my hands feel after I use this product.
My favorite time to use this hand scrub is between manicures. This allows the oils to not only moisturize my hands and cuticles but also my nails.
If you don’t like citrus you won’t like how this product smells. But, I for one love it. The hand scrub leaves behind a fairy strong scent that smells like an orange creamsicle. The scent lingers for quite a while though does settle to a nice, subtle orange scent.
This is a product I truly enjoy using. It’s a nice mini spa treatment for my hands that doesn’t take much time or effort. The Spa Sensuals Rejuvenating Hand Scrub retails for $20 which is about middle of the road in terms of prices for hand scrubs. Or at least comparing the price to the hand scrubs I have tried.
This is technically step 2 and is supposed to be used after the Rejuvenating Hand Scrub. When I use this hand cream after the hand scrub it really helps lock in the moisture. But, the Intensive Repair Hand Cream is a wonderful stand alone hand cream as well.
This hand cream comes with quite the list of claims:
- A luxurious blend of oils – Almond Oil, Lavender Oil and Grape Seed Oil – penetrates deep into skin to help heal dry, rough hands and provide lasting moisture.
- Hydration Lasts For Up To 24 Hours
- Shea Butter coats skin with rich moisture without leaving hands greasy.
- Provides intense moisture that absorbs quickly.
- Vitamins A, C, and E nourish skin and help repair damage, for softer-feeling hands.
This is a hand cream with a medium consistency that spreads easily. The scent is the same as a hand scrub; a lovely orange creamsicle citrus scent that is initially strong but does settle to a soft, orange scent.
What I do like is that this hand cream leaves my hands feeling very moisturized but not greasy. And it just feels so luxurious on the skin.
The negative thing about this product is the price. It’s $20 for 4oz which I think is a bit much for a hand cream. And while the company claims this provides up to 24 hours of moisture I apply hand cream at least 2 or 3 times every day. I didn’t find that I needed to use hand cream less often while I was using this product.
Final Thoughts: If you want to treat yourself or give someone in your life a nice gift (my mom would love this for mother’s day) I would highly recommend this two step system. My hands feel amazing after I use the two products together. Plus, hand scrub isn’t something most people tend to buy for themselves.
But, if you’re just interested in trying out a product from Peter Lamas I would go with the hand scrub. It’s a somewhat unique product that performs brilliantly. And seriously, your hands will feel AMAZING after you use it.
