Julep - Paula

Julep – Paula

Julep - PaulaTruth time! I meant to skip my December Julep Maven box. I’ve been skipping a lot lately – I just have been very underwhelmed by Julep and overwhelmed by other brands. To make a long story short, I forgot to skip the box. My December box contained two polishes:  Paula & Soleil as well the Orbital Eyeshadow in Equinox.

Julep Paula is a brilliant ocean blue with the most magnificent gold microshimmer (very micro). Without the shimmer this polish would be extraordinarily boring – but WOW. The first time I put it on, I was on the sofa in low light – I sent a picture to Alli and we both placed it in the ehh… category. When I went to run some errands and stepped outside and… I was enchanted (cue Taylor Swift). Could not stop staring.

The application was great. I started off with Julep’s Oxygen Smoothing Basecoat and applied two coats of Paula. Sealed it off with a coat of Seche Vite & voila!

So…if you’re a fan of blues, I’d say this is worth the splurge. Julep polishes retail on their website for 14, but if you’re a Julep Maven they cost 11.20. You can also shop Julep at Sephora!

If you’d like to try Julep Maven you can click here! You can try the code FREEBOX or FREECOLOR to get your first box free!

I outgrew Julep too… they have some great colors (Etta is my fave, and I’ve never seen a dupe of it) but the bottles contain so little actual polish for the price, unless I catch a sale or do the monthly sub thing and end up with some polishes that inevitably get re-gifted. This bold and linear shade of blue is not me, but the gold shimmer does make it special.

I agree with everything you said! The fact that the boxes are 24.99 now doesn’t help..

What do you think?
