Nail Art: Pumpkin King Manicure

Pumpkin King Nail ArtEvery year around Halloween I make it a point to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas. It’s a wonderful movie from the story to the music to the animation.  Plus, the nostalgic aspect of the film cannot be ignored; it was a favorite of mine as a child.

So, when I saw Sally Hansen had a polish called Pumpkin Queen I couldn’t help but do a Pumpkin King manicure! (For those not familiar with The Nightmare Before Christmas, the main character, Jack Skellington, is also known as the Pumpkin King.)

As with all my nail art, I kept this manicure simple. I used Jack’s face as an accent nail; the rest of the nails I used Sally Hansen Pumpkin Queen topped with SinfulColors Splatter Spell.

To create the Jack Skellington nail I used Ulta Snow White as a base and OPI Sapphire in the Snow for the facial features. I used a dotting tool for the eyes and a nail brush for the mouth and nose.

The great thing about Jack is that his facial features of imperfect. So no need to worry about straight lines or perfectly circular eyes!

As always, there are swatches under the jump!

Happy almost Halloween 🙂

Cute and kinda spooky. (Haven’t seen that movie; got it marked on Netflix so hopefully this week!) That nail art is a little above my skill level (still trying to master dots). I’m gonna attempt your ghost nail art. A bit simpler with only three dots. Feeling confident. And I -finally- found the Pumpkin Queen polish last night at Walgreens!

I’m so glad you found Pumpkin Queen! It’s the perfect fall orange.

Let me know how your ghosts turn out 🙂
