Yippie! OPI’s Fall collections always make me happy. I love the destination/location based themes the most. The Nordic Collection for Fall 2014 has been out for over a month, but I had trouble narrowing down my choices. I finally decided on Can’t aFjörd Not To and Skating on Thin Ice-Land. I have my eye on a few more, but we’ll have to see!
I don’t wear oranges that often. It’s not that I don’t like them… it’s that I generally like other colors more. So here’s where I tell you that I ordered this because fjörd is my second favorite word (FYI: my ULTIMATE favorite word is subsequent). When this polish arrived I was actually a bit disappointed. Based on the press release I was hoping for something a bit brighter, but once I put it on I kind of fell in love with it.
Can’t aFjörd Not To is a soft orange coral creme. It definitely pulls more coral against my skin. I used three coats for my swatches – two carefully applied coats would probably suffice, but I don’t really do “careful.” I definitely can see this polish becoming a go-to polish at the nail salon for some people. Yes, it’s orange, but it has a very classic feel to it. Even though it’s a little bright, it’s almost seasonless and lovely. It’d be great for a spring pedi, or a mid-winter pick-me-up mani. While it’s not super unique or a real standout in this collection, it’s a winner.
Love it or leave it?
