deborah lippmann Take the “A” Train

deborah lippmann Take the A Train COVEROnce upon a time I was obsessed with polishes like Take the “A” Train. My obsession led to many manicures using OPI Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous. Unfortunately, as with many love stories, I eventually got tired of Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous. The green undertones and finish began to feel dated.

Enter Take the “A” Train. My obsession has been renewed!

Take the “A” Train is a lovely polished pewter that looks like melted graphite on the nails. And, as with all polishes from the deborah lippmann New York Marquee collection, the formula is amazing. This applied easily in two coats and I encountered none of the normal issues that come with metallic finish polishes. For tips on applying these polishes check out my post on I’ll Take Manhattan.

I really like this polish. It feels like an updated version of my well loved Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous and is perfect for fall. Particularly if you want something that isn’t just your normal silver or gold metallic.

The New York Marquee collection is currently available at Sephora and on Amazon.

And as always, there are swatches under the jump!

This looks fantastic on you! I love polishes like this. My two favorites from this collection are the neutrals, this one and Lullaby of Broadway. Take the A Train is so chic, I am probably putting it on my wishlist even though I have similar color and finish in my stash(Estee Lauder Smoked Chrome is another similar gorgeous polish, but NOT a dupe). Can’t get enough of polishes like this for fall.

every color looks good on you. how long have you gone without changing polish.

How often I change my polish really depends on how busy I am. I’ve definitely gone 7 or 10 days without changing polish.

I like the “melted graphite” look too, and this is a beautiful and straightforward version of it. Super nice!
