OPI Down To The Core-al

OPI Down To The Core-al CoverThis polish got lost in the mix for a long time. But last weekend I was looking for a polish to wear with a navy and white dress. I also wanted a polish that would work well under a glow in the dark top coat. Yes, that sounds a tiny bit odd but I went to this really awesome event at Discovery Place (a local science museum) called Science on the Rocks. Basically, you get to go to Discovery Place and act like a kid again. But this time there’s a bar.

Anyway! Down To The Core-al is from the summer 2014 OPI Neon collection. I picked up the mini set (Little Bits of Neon) and have been impressed with the collection as a whole.

Down To The Core-al is a super bright pink leaning coral with subtle shimmer. Because this is a neon the formula almost seems a bit chalky; particularly as it dries. A shiny top coat fixes that problem.

While I like this polish and I love coral there’s just nothing special about it. Especially when you take into account some of the awesome polishes that are in this collection. In short, I have no complaints about this polish but it doesn’t make me swoon, either.

That being said, it really did make an AWESOME base under a black light top coat (I used NYC Demon Glow). My nails were glowing like crazy!

The OPI Neon collection is currently available at Ulta. The Little Bits of Neon Mini Set is also available at Ulta as well as on Amazon.
