Essie Marshmallow

Essie Marshmallow coverThis is a polish I never thought would land in my collection. But after falling head over heels in love with Funky Fingers Jaw Breaker I realized there was a reason this polish comes with so much buzz. And when I acquired FingerPaints Red, White & Hue I knew it was finally time to order Marshmallow.

Obviously I ordered Marshmallow for one reason; to do jelly sandwiches. But, I did want to try it on its own to see how it performs. As expected, Marshmallow is fairly sheer and has a jelly finish but the formula is easy to work with. I was surprised by the slight pink undertone to this otherwise off white polish. It makes it quite flattering for my particular skintone.

While I would never wear this polish alone it does work perfectly for the reason I purchased it. I did a patriotic jelly sandwich for my 4th of July manicure and loved how it turned out!

Marshmallow is easy to find as it is part of the permanent Essie line. Online it’s available at beauty.com and on Amazon for a bit less expensive.

As always, there are swatches under the jump.

  1. Marshmallow is one of my favorites! It looks gorgeous with rainbow-colored glitter… very much like a cupcake on your nails!!!

  2. I got a mani last week & picked Marshmallow. I was scared I was going to hate it but I ended up loving it. I think I need to add it to my collection.

  4. One coat of any jewel tone creme then a coat of glitter then a coat of marshmallow: now you have a candy coat mani. I did that at Easter with ten different color cremes! Even the kid at the gas station noticed. 🙂 One of my best manicures ever, I just love this stuff!

  5. How many coats did you use? I’ve never been able to make it look that good on my own!
