Sally Hansen Color Foil Purple Alloy

Sally Hansen Color Foil Purple Alloy coverThe Sally Hansen Color Foil collection is winning me over!

The first polish I tried from this collection, Sterling Silver, was awesome but it was very similar to other polishes I already had in my collection. I was a bit skeptical about using a polish with a metallic finish in a color that isn’t normally a metal but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised!

Purple Alloy is a medium purple with a chrome finish. This looks absolutely gorgeous on the nail. It’s flashy and eye catching (I got so many compliments on this manicure….the lady helping me at the bank declared she was going to pick up Purple Alloy after work!) but it’s not over the top.

The formula was a bit on the thick side and dries quickly. As with any polish with this finish you must work quickly!

Sally Hansen does not recommend using a top coat with this polish but I did. I noticed no difference in the finish and it definitely extends wear time.

Make sure to check out the swatches under the jump.

  1. I struggle with the Color Foils. I am going to have to try out your tip and see if that helps. I only bought a few of them and was going to use them for stamping but seeing how pretty your full nail mani looks I really want to try them again. I think I have this color.

  2. I bought the chrome cobalt and I love the color. I don’t think these are for me because I have vertical ridges in some of my nails. The polish looks striped. 🙁
