Essie Urban Jungle

Essie Urban Jungle coverI must admit I wasn’t all that sure about this polish. It looked so dreadfully boring in the bottle. And I couldn’t quite figure out what it was doing in a summer collection.

Well, Essie once again, proved my skepticism to be unnecessary!

Essie describes Urban Jungle as an alabaster creme. That is spot on. Urban Jungle is still in the white family but the slight cool gray or dusty undertones keeps it from being flat or predictable. It’s also not as start as white making it super flattering.

The formula is wonderful. I used just two coats in my swatches.

I used this polish as a base for my birthday manicure and really loved the look.

I really enjoyed both Strut Your Stuff and Ruffles & Feathers from this collection but I must say this is my favorite of the bunch!

Urban Jungle is currently available on as well as Amazon.

Make sure to check out the swatches under the jump!

Wow. I think… I think I need this. You’re right, it is super flattering! This is why I shouldn’t follow nail polish blogs, it keeps creating lemmings! 😛

I’m wearing this polish today actually 🙂 It took a little getting used to formula-wise but the color is just SO pretty!

I’m really into the almost-white look this summer. This would be a nice addition to my stash because it’s soft, not stark. Lovely swatches.
