Tried the Trend: Neon & Nude

Essie Topless & Barefoot and Essie I'm Addicted coverMy love of all things neon is well documented, but I do realize not everyone is into the neon trend as much as I am. That is why I find this neon and nude trend so interesting. For those of you that aren’t completely gung-ho about neons this might be a way for you to still take advantage of all the awesome neon polishes that have been released recently.

The first thing I needed to do to try this look was to find a nude polish that actually worked with my skintone. Believe it or not I didn’t have one! My perfect nude is Essie Topless & Barefoot.

I started with Topless & Barefoot as a base and let it dry completely. The point of this trend (or at least what I gather to be the point…) is to be able to effortlessly wear neons. So I did a really simple accent nail using Essie I’m Addicted. I just blocked off the bottom half of my nail with tape and did a couple of coats of I’m Addicted to cover the top part of my nail.

Honestly, I was surprised how much I liked the end result. I wore it out for some Sunday funday drinks on the patio with friends and it was perfect.

I’m interested to know what y’all think about the nude and neon trend. I think it’s a trend people could get into if they’re willing to give it a try. Plus, it’s so fun for summer!

There are, of course, swatches under the jump.

  1. I’m not a big fan of neons — this mani might be a good way for me to mix things up. I’ve definitely got to pick up a bottle of Topless & Barefoot it looks to have the right amount of pink.

    1. Neons definitely aren’t everyone’s cup of tea though I do think this is a good way to kind of dip your toe in the water.

I highly recommend T&B if your skintone is close to mine. I’ve had the hardest time finding the perfect nude polish!

What do you think?
