Perfect Pair: JulieG Canary Islands and L’Oreal Not A Cloud in Sight

JulieG Canary Islands and L'Oreal Not A Cloud in Sight coverThis manicure came about after I was looking through an Avon catalog. I’m a big fan of the Avon Nail Art Design strips and they had some new designs out for spring. I really liked the colorblock design but didn’t really want to spend $7 on nail art strips when I felt like I could recreate the design.

So, this is my attempt at recreating the look. I decided just to do an accent nail and I’m really happy with the way it turned out.

For the yellow I used JulieG Canary Islands (which is honestly the best yellow polish EVER). I let that dry then applied L’Oreal Not a Cloud in Sight to half the nail. After that dried I used a nail art brush and OPI Push & Shove to add the silver line separating the colors.

This was a fun manicure and great for spring. Plus, instead of ordering the $7 nail strips I recreated the look with polishes I already had!

I’m curious to know if anyone else has used nail art strips as inspiration and instead of buying the strips recreating the design yourself. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of nail art strips but I only buy them when the design isn’t easily recreated.

There are, of course, swatches under the jump!
