The official, unofficial start of summer has finally arrived. And let’s be honest, the ONLY way to celebrate such things is with a themed manicure.
For this manicure I wanted to do something geometric but not perfect….if that makes sense. Generally when I’d do a manicure like this I’d use tape to block off parts of my nail. But this time I did it free hand so it’d be a little less perfect. I also used polishes that would show throw when I overlapped them.
Obviously I did a red, white and blue color scheme for the holiday. I really love the way it turned out!
To do this manicure I started out with China Glaze Dandy Lyin’ Around as a base. I used OPI Over & Over A-Gwen and Essie Butler Please to create the geometric pattern alternating which color I used first.
This manicure was so easy to do. The only “special” tool I used was a brush from my eBay nail art brush set. I used that to create the point on the side of the nails and in some instances to straighten some lines.
I love how this manicure turned out. It’s fun and festive but not too fussy. Perfect for a Memorial Day BBQ!
There are swatches under the jump.
Hope those of you in the States have a great holiday weekend!
