Perfect Pair: SinfulColors Citrine & CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat

Perfect Pair SinfulColors Citrine & CND Vinylux Weekly Top CoatThis isn’t going to be a normal post. Fair warning!

Last week I made my way down to Auburn for the spring football game. We actually stayed on Lake Martin which is about half an hour outside of Auburn. We had wonderful time.

I fully intended to take a complete break from even caring about my nails (though I never go anywhere without my Smith’s Rosebud Salve….I wasn’t going to neglect my cuticles!) so I had no intention of doing a post on my manicure. But, as it turned out I was so impressed that I just have to share! Plus I still have a bit of vacation lag so I’m not quite back into the groove of things yet.

SinfulColors Citrine has become my go to Auburn orange polish. I wanted a low maintenance mani for the weekend so I just did a full manicure with Citrine and topped it with CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat. I’ve done a wear test with that top coat and it did wear extremely well but that was in conjunction with a CND Vinylux Weekly polish. This is the first time I’ve used the CND top coat over a regular polish (if you will..).

I took the bottle of Citrine with me (along with my base coat, top coat and polish remover!) thinking I’d need to redo my nails at least once during the weekend. As it turned out, I wore this manicure for 6 days without a single chip (seriously).

Citrine is a polish I wear quite often and while I don’t recall having any wear issues with the polish I certainly don’t remember it ever wearing this well. So I think it’s safe to assume that the CND Vinylux Top Coat is the reason why my manicure lasted 6 days with just some minor tip wear.

To say the least from now on if I need my manicure to really last I will be using the CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat!

CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat is on the expensive side though you can find it a bit less expensive on Amazon.

Below the jump you will find a couple of pictures of my nails on day 6 as well as other pictures from my long weekend in Alabama.

And as always, War Eagle! TDV will be back to our regularly scheduled programming tomorrow. I promise 🙂

I love how long the Sinful Colors polishes stay on my nails; most of the time I get tired of the colour way before the manicure starts to chip away.

I’ve been using the CND Vinylux top coat over Julep and OPI polishes all winter and I can get 7 days without a chip. It’s a great top coat.

I’ve never had such good luck with a top coat! It’s great.

Amazing! This totally finally convinced me to go hunting for this top coat.

I love this top coat too! It’s not often that I need a manicure to last for so long (I usually change every 2 days) but for when I do, this is the top coat I turn too! I find that the shine on the top coat does fade, but I usually top the top coat with a shinier top coat to remedy that problem and it still lasts for days! Love it!

That’s how I am – I rarely wear a polish more than a couple days. It’s nice to have a top coat that I can depend on for longer wear!

Wow what incredible timing! I just received my bottle of this product yesterday!

I intended to wear it over regular polish and I found a few negative reviews while I was waiting for shipping (a bit longer due to the long weekend), and now my faith is renewed. Can’t wait to conduct my own trial ( I just can’t change my polish every two days); and I have many SC polishes as well! No more sitting on my hands to hide the chips! 🙂

      That is perfect timing!

Fingers crossed it works as well for you as it did for me!

Hi! Can you tell us what base coat you used under the sinful colors polish?

What do you think?
