OPI Big Hair…Big Nails

OPI Big Hair...Big Nails coverAh the OPI Texas collection.

Back in the Spring of 2011 OPI released their Texas collection. Prior to its release OPI was touting their new and revolutionary sorbet finish polishes. By now we all know these “sorbet finish” polishes are just jelly polishes with a fancy OPI name but regardless I picked up Big Hair…Big Nails because I was curious. While the finish wasn’t anything new or revolutionary I really did end up loving this polish. Even years later when spring finally rolls around I’m always reaching for this polish!

OPI describes Big Hair…Big Nails as a rosy pageant peach. Peach isn’t how I would describe it, on me it is a pink leaning coral. I really love the color. And the formula is great. Because it’s a jelly, I did need three coats to get an (almost) opaque color.

I love this polish so much I inadvertently ended up with a back up bottle! Ulta had a slew of Ulta Exclusive OPI polishes in the Summer of 2012. As it turned out they were all repacked previously released OPI polishes. I picked up Meet Me at the Bonfire which turned out to be Big Hair…Big Nails repackaged. (If you want all the details on that debacle check out my post on Meet Me at the Bonfire.)

Sadly, OPI did not add this polish to their permanent line but have no fear! Big Hair…Big Nails is available on Amazon and eBay.

There are swatches under the jump!

(love you sigg bottle 🙂 )

The polish isn’t something I’d wear, though I can still appreciate the colour.

I love my Sigg bottle, too! I’ve had it for years. Great quality and so much better than using disposable water bottles 🙂
