Once, a long time ago, I tried a nail polish from Forever 21. It was a silver glitter in a clear base. It was nothing special. But, the price was under $2 and I still use that nail polish to this day. So when I ran across that polish in my Melmer the other day it reminded me that I hadn’t checked out the nail polish offerings from Forever 21 in ages.
I headed over to the Forever 21 website and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the nail polish selection! Sure, they had plenty of your run of the mill nail polish colors but they also had (what looked to be unique) glitter and textured polishes.
Cosmic Matter immediately caught my eye. The gray base is a neutral, medium gray and the silver glitter is large enough to stand out from the base but isn’t chunky. Basically, it’s a better version of OPI Metallic 4 Life.
The formula is great. I used two coats in my swatches and had no issues with the glitter laying flat on the nail.
My only complaint is the labeling. No where on the bottle does it say the name of this polish is Cosmic Matter. Instead the label says “grey/silver”. Not a huge issue but I wanted to let y’all know in case you were hunting for this polish in stores.
That being said, if the state of the Forever 21 in my local mall is anywhere close to normal, good luck finding a specific nail polish in the disheveled cosmetics “section” right beside the checkout line. It’s much easier to find what you’re looking for online. Forever21 has free shipping everyday on orders over $50. But I waited until they were offering free shipping on orders over $21 and hauled quite a few polishes including Cosmic Matter and Mint Chip.
Anyway. There are all kinds of swatches under the jump!
