Julep – Monaco

Julep - MonacoYes, I realize that it’s St. Patrick’s Day and that everyone else in nail polish land is probably showing off delightful green manicures today, but St. Patrick’s Day just isn’t my thing. What is my thing? Duke Basketball. SO yesterday, I was – of course – watching the ACC Championship game between Duke and UVA. After a pretty slow start, I decided that painting my nails blue would give Duke a little extra boost in the second half. Yes, I have magical long distance game influencing nails. They just didn’t happen to work this time…

I actually didn’t mean to get the March Julep Maven Box. I intended to skip March altogether, but when I got around to opening the box yesterday, I’m glad I didn’t. Seriously, how pretty is Monaco? Julep describes it as a “dazzling mariner blue crème.” It’s a great fit for Spring, representing Dazzling Blue from Pantone’s 2014 Spring Color Report. Well done, Julep! I so rarely wear shades in this range, but I really should. Monaco applied very nicely, even and opaque with three coats. I can’t wait to try Lilou.

Julep polishes are available at Sephora, but the monthly subscription service is a much more affordable way to get Julep polishes. To get your first month free use the code FREEBOX! Check below for swatches!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

  1. I usually don’t go for super bright/bold colors, but this is a seriously pretty shade of bright blue! And it’s perfect for transitioning between winter and spring.

    1. I’ve found myself gravitating towards bolder and brighter lately…Maybe because it’s been such a cold, dark, miserable winter… I’m ready for Spring!

What do you think?
