Zoya PixieDust Vega

Zoya PixieDust Vega coverI’m not even going to lie, I was terrified to try this nail polish! All I could think about was the disaster that was Essie Belugaria. I mean, I still have nightmares that center around that nail polish,

I am happy to report that Zoya did not make the same mistakes Essie did. And I kind of love Vega.

For Spring 2014 Zoya released 3 new Pixie Dust polishes. The collection is called Magical Pixie and the polishes in the collection differ from the normal Zoya PixieDust polishes (which I have never tried but Katie loves!) due to the addition of large glitter.

Zoya describes Vega as a blue opal sparkle. Blue opal is the perfect way to describe this polish as it has a bit of a metallic look to it and of course, the large glitter in the polish is holographic. I love how this polish looks on the nail. It’s incredibly unique and eye catching. Even my brother (who isn’t exactly into such things as nail polish…) commented on my nails when we were out to dinner (we had AMAZING German food…I know you were curious).

The formula was good considering the finish of this polish. I used two coats in my swatches.

Polishes from the Magical Pixie collection retail for $10. As of now, the only place I’ve been able to find this collection is on Zoya’s website and on Amazon. Zoya also has a Magical Pixie Trio that includes all 3 polishes from the collection.

I thought Zoya polishes might be sold on beauty.com. Not so much! When I searched “Zoya” I got questionable results. Not exactly what I was looking for!

Anyway! There are a ton swatches under the jump.

Normally I don’t like textured polish but since this one’s in my favorite color and looks so unique and pretty, it might have to go on my wish list.

This polish is definitely unique! I don’t LOVE textured polishes, though I do like quite a few. This one is high on my list!

How hard was it to remove, considering the large glitters they’ve included? I’ve been mulling whether to get this nail polish or not because it might be too hard to remove. It looks so gorgeous though!

Removal really isn’t bad. It’s much like other textured polishes, not like regular glitter polishes.

What do you think?
