The other day I was going through the polishes I have to swatch when I realized they were almost all salon brand polishes. Somehow I’ve managed to be a bit out of the loop when it comes to what’s going on in the nail polish world at the drugstore. So, I headed over to drugstore.com and looked around.
I had heard about the Maybelline Street Art collection but I hadn’t seen it anywhere (I hadn’t been looking for it either…). Honestly, I was a bit skeptical about the whole graffiti/street art/whatever you want to call it glitter polishes. I tend to stick to polishes that aren’t quite as…edgy (for a lack of a better word…). But as it turns out, I really loved how this manicure turned out!
For the base color I used 3 coats of Essie Find Me An Oasis then I topped that with 2 coats of Maybelline Blue Beats. The glitter in Blue Beats deposited evenly over the nail and the glitter laid flat.
I really like the way Blue Beats looked over the pale blue base. It made the glitter a bit less harsh and even made this manicure feel very spring!
There are swatches under the jump!
