CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat coverLast summer CND released a new line of polishes that had an astounding lists of claims. I was of course curious and tested out one of the polishes from the Vinylux line; Midnight Swim. To say the least, I was impressed. This prompted me to get the matching top coat. I really wanted to give this product a full week of wear and see how it did. I was also just curious about the top coat in general.

As far as top coats go this falls right in the middle thickness wise. It’s not as thick as Seche Vite or essence gel-look nor is it as thin as Essie Good To Go!.

I find this top coat dries fairly quickly and does give off a high shine finish. It’s not meant to be a fast dry top coat but CND does say all their Vinylux polishes dry fully in just 8 and a half minutes. I do think that is accurate.

Now for the important thing, wear time! I wore this top coat along with Midnight Swim for a full 7 days. The claim is weekly wear and I wanted to see if that claim was true!

I have to say I was really impressed. After 7 days my nails definitely needed attention but I didn’t have any major chipping. Realistically at about 5 days I really wanted to do my nails. And over the week my nails did dull a bit. But honestly, if you’re having a super busy week like I was having (you know…had to head to the Auburn basketball game in Columbia…I even had an awkward encounter with the South Carolina mascot!) this is a great polish combo to have.

I could keep rambling on about this but the pictures speak for themselves! Under the jump you will find a swatch of my manicure on day 1 and then a collage of my nails over the 7 days. And for good measure I threw in a picture of my nails at the game (Auburn did win, by the way!).

For more information on the CND Vinylux line check out my post on Midnight Swim.

CND is available at Beauty Brands but you can get this top coat for a bit cheaper from Amazon.

the colors in the vinyl lux line are fantastic but i tried the same test and my polish wouldn’t even stay on 2 full days. I don’t work or do anything difficult so I was really surprised that I did not have much luck but i really love the colors.
