Sally Hansen – Commander in Chic

Sally Hansen - Commander in ChicSince I’m totally crushing on Sally Hansen’s CSM line, I decided to pick up a few of their more popular early colors. Today, I have a polish that came around amidst the “griege” craze. I promise not to use that word again, I think it’s unoriginal. Oh, and just so you know, I feel the same way about the word “blurple.”I’ll save my color naming rant for another day….but you get the point.

SO. Another adventure at Walgreen’s with my favorite Cosmetics lady with her amazing coupons resulted in a B1G1 situation. I picked up Commander in Chic and Mudslide (which Otis decided was yesterday afternoon. Luckily, he didn’t mess with Commander in Chic. Good dog?

Let me tell you why I like taupe polishes. They’re neutral enough to be completely work appropriate, but edgy enough that they don’t come across as boring or falling in the dreaded “old lady polish” range.

There are plenty of shades in this range – so you’re bound to find one you like. The lovely Steph of Steph’s Closet (one of my absolute favorite places to go for swatches & comparisons) has a great taupe comparison that you can check out here.

If you’re looking to buy this little lady, you can find it at Target, Ulta, as well as most any drugstore. I suggest the drugstore route, as they have every-so-often coupons that give you more bang for your buck.

I would not call it greige – I see no grey in it. But it reminds me of marron glacé… 🙂

Marron Glacé by Mavala? I have a Mavala polish I’ve had for years, but never used…

Anyway, it’s a bit of a color shifter depending on lighting and skin tone – it definitely has it’s grey side 🙂

I was thinking about those edible marrons glacés – I had forgotten the Mavala…
