The February issue of Marie Claire came in the mail recently with Drew Barrymore on the cover. My eyes immediately went to her nails. She was rocking what looked like easy nail art that was really cute. So of course, I had to give it a try.
In the magazine it actually said what polishes were used on Drew. The exact polishes she used were both from her makeup line Flower Beauty (Bluebell of the Ball and Make My Daylily). Believe it or not, I don’t own a single Flower Beauty polish so I decided to just use polishes I already had in my collection. I also decided to just do the nail art as an accent nail so it would be a bit more subtle.
So, to recreate this look I used Essie Coat Azure and CoverGirl Silver Lining. I painted 2 coats of Silver Lining on my nail and let it dry just to the touch. Then I used a small nail art brush from my eBay nail art brush set to create the outline of the triangle and filled the rest of the nail in with Coat Azure directly from the bottle.
I liked this design as an accent nail though I do think it would look great as a full manicure as well.
There are swatches under the jump.
