OPI 4 In The Morning

OPI 4 In The Morning coverIt’s January which can only mean one thing. It’s time for what has become OPI’s annual celebrity collection.

For 2014 OPI partnered with the one and only Gwen Stefani. At first when I saw the promo images I wasn’t all that excited about the collection. The colors aren’t groundbreaking but then I started thinking about it and when I think Gwen Stefani I definitely think black and red. So, instead of this collection being focused on colors it is more focused on finishes.

4 In The Morning was oddly the polish I was most excited about from this collection. As y’all probably know I’m completely obsessed with deborah lippmann Pseudo Silk Kimono which is an off white polish with a silk (or satin) finish. 4 In The Morning is an almost black gray with the slightest bit of shimmer that dries to a satin finish. The finish reminds me of a chalkboard. And it makes the perfect black counterpart to Pseudo Silk Kimono.

Application was really good. I used 3 coats in my swatches but this polish dries quickly. I used a base coat (Amour Sticky Base Coat) and no top coat.

The Gwen Stefani OPI collection is available at Ulta and anywhere else OPI is sold. 4 In The Morning is part of the miniset for this collection.

There are swatches under the jump!

  1. This one is on my wish list too, I love that Satin Finish (and I already have the Sally Hansen one which is probably close enough!)

    • I really love satin finish polishes! It’s great because they aren’t totally flat but they look a little edgy not being super shiny either 🙂

  2. I actually really like this collection. Maybe I like it because it’s Gwen and she’s cool. This is a lovely finish though and I can’t wait to get my hands on it x

  4. […] This manicure I did fairly quickly. I used deborah lippmann Pseudo Silk Kimono as a base, added some glitter with Essie Set in Stones. Using a super tiny dotting tool I added a 2-0-1-5 on my ring finger with OPI 4 In The Morning. […]
