China Glaze – This is Tree-mendous

China Glaze - Tree-mendousRemember when I said I wasn’t ready for sparkly greens? The time has come! I’ve caught a touch of Christmas fever! The baking, decorating, and holiday party rotation has begun! Yesterday was dreary, cold, and wet so I knew as soon as I woke up which polish I’d be choosing: This is Tree-mendous!

This is Tree-mendous is from China Glaze’s 2013 Holiday collection: HoliGlaze. Tree-mendous is a predominately green glitter with gold dispersed throughout. The glitter is very fine suspended in a clear base. It’s meant for full coverage as it’s too dense to be used for layering (at least in my book).  The kelly green sparkle is beautiful. I can already tell you that This is Tree-mendous will  be making an appearance on St. Patrick’s Day – it’s perfect.

I used three thin coats to achieve an opaque look. Since the glitter is so fine, I found that rolling the bottle a bit between coats helped to spread the glitter throughout the bottle and help for more uniform coats. As to be expected, it dries a bit gritty – but a nice thick coat of your favorite top coat will take care of that.

Is it a glitter or a texture? I think I’d have to see it in person, maybe it just looks like a texture in pictures. The color is really sweet, but I can’t get into sandy textures…

I’m sorry, but CG Emerald Sparkle is the ultimate green glitter… for the holidays *and* for the rest of the year. After it nothing else will do for me! 🙂

What do you think?
