University Nail Pax Collegiate Nail Wraps

University Nail Pax Collegiate Nail WrapsOh my gosh, y’all.

If you caught my post last weekend then you know I went to the Iron Bowl. And well….it was by most accounts the game of the century and the best finish to a sporting event ever.

Auburn runs deep in my family. I was the fourth generation to earn a degree from Auburn and we are huge Auburn football fans. My brother had never been to an Auburn football game so we decided this year to go to the Iron Bowl. We had no idea it would turn out to be such an amazing game.

For the occasion, I of course HAD to have the perfect manicure. Luckily, Erik from University Nail Pax had emailed me asking if I’d like to try their collegiate themed nail wraps. Auburn is one of 49 schools UNP offers. I was really excited to Auburn-fy my nails. It was perfect for my Iron Bowl weekend manicure!

Under the jump are a ton photos as well as my thoughts on these collegiate nail wraps.

And just for fun, there is also a picture of me and my brother before the game and after (we were REALLY excited). The comparison is just funny. As well as a couple of photos of my mani in action.

If you want to see more sights and sounds from my Iron Bowl experience there are plenty of pictures over on my Instagram.

Packaging: The packaging of this product is pretty basic. The wraps come in a cardboard envelope style sleeve that contains 32 nail wraps and a nail file. 8 of the nail wraps have the large logo and the rest have the small logo repeated in a polka dot pattern.

University Nail Pax Auburn directions

Directions: Inside the flap there are directions detailing how to apply the nail wraps. The instructions are pretty basic. I would add having warm hands helps the process along as does using a base coat.

Application: These nail wraps are not made from nail polish. So they are more like stickers. Because of that, application is a bit more involved. I started with a base coat and applied the nail wraps starting with the pinky and working towards the thumb. I have narrow nail beds that are rather curved. This can be problematic with nail stickers. I did have a few wrinkles on the side of my nails but otherwise these applied wonderfully.

The directions say a clear top coat is optional. I would say a clear top coat is required. Adding a top coat really seals in the tips and prevents lifting.

Wear: These wear very well though do require a bit of maintenance.  I was VERY hard on my nails and did experience some lifting of the nail wraps. This was easily fixed by resealing the tips with a top coat.

Removal: Removal is pretty simple. I soaked my hands in warm water for a few minutes then peeled the nail wraps off. There was some residue left on my nails which was easily removed with nail polish remover.

Overall, I love these. I’m a huge college sports fan so these are great for me to have for big games. They’re just fun. So many people commented on my nails when I was in Auburn for the game.

Each set costs $12 (though through the end of December you can get 20% off your order with the code HOLIDAY13) and contains 32 nail wraps (enough for 2-3 full manicures).

Currently, 49 schools are available from the University Nail Pax website. If your school isn’t available make sure to request it. Hey, it worked for me!
