I live in the South for a reason. I don’t do winter. But I’m perfectly happy to try out something icy looking on my nails!
Overall, I was happy with this set. OK, that’s a lie. I kind of love it.
Each duo retails for $24 which is a pretty good price considering each polish from butter LONDON usually costs $15.
Below the jump there are reviews of each polish and oodles of swatches!
Bluecoat: butter LONDON describes Bluecoat has an opaque, navy shimmer. I’m not sure I would call it navy. And it’s more of a metallic than just a plain shimmer. Either way, I love the color. While Bluecoat is dark it never looks black.
The formula is a little bit tricky. Like butter LONDON claims, Bluecoat is very opaque, but it’s also a little runny. Nothing impossible to work with just be careful when applying!
Also, as with all polishes in this color range, a basecoat is definitely required (I used Amour Sticky Base) if you want to avoid smurf nails 🙂
Leccy: Leccy is apparently British slang for electricity. I don’t really get electricity when I look at this polish but we’ll just go with it…
butter LONDON describes Leccy as a sheer, blue opal fleck overcoat. Along with blue flecks, Leccy has smaller almost copper flecks. They look very similar to the copper leaf I used in my DIY Gold Flake Top Coat.
Over Bluecoat the blue flecks do look very icy. I really loved this manicure. It was perfect for a Sunday Funday!
Like I said, overall I do like this duo. It’s not exactly three looks in one (Leccy is not wearable alone…) but it’s still a good deal at $24 and would make a great gift.
