Cover Girl Black Diamond

Cover Girl Black Diamond bottleAs a whole, I’ve been extremely impressed with the Cover Girl Outlast polish line. I picked up 3 to do the Cover Girl Carolina Panthers fanicure. Black Diamond was the least interesting of the 3 polishes I used but not any less impressive than the other two!

Black Diamond is a black creme. Nothing fancy here…no green or yellow undertones. Just plain old black.

While the color is nothing particularly special the formula is wonderful. I used two coats in my swatches.

Regardless if you wear straight black polish or not, a black creme is essential for any nail polish collection. It’s used even in the most basic nail art! And makes a great base for glitter. (I already used Black Diamond as a base for Essie Jazzy Jubilantloved it!)

Black Diamond, along with JulieG Black Sheep, are great black polish options at the drugstore. I ordered my bottle from (the polishes are actually on sale right now…) but Cover Girl Outlast polishes are not hard to find in stores.

There are a couple swatches under the jump!

  1. I absolutely agree, every collection needs a good ‘little black polish’. I’ve tried quite a few, and if they aren’t great, they’re terrible…there doesn’t seem to be any middle ground. Chips and streaks show so much. Did you use a topcoat? This one looks shinier than the results I usually get with anything I’ve tried.

The best I’ve had so far is OPI’s Black Onyx. I go thru a bottle fast over the winter. I must have about thirty odd top coats (I LOVE the Nfu-Oh flakies…sad that they are disco’d) that I usually add over black for the effect. But I’ll admit I always see black as step 1 of a 2 step process…

How I wish my nails were as delicate as yours, such pretty hands! 🙂
