Perfect Pair: butter LONDON Royal Navy & Sephora by OPI Havana Dreams

Sephora by OPI Havana Dreams and butter LONDON Royal Navy coverSometimes I feel like my entire life is shades of blue. I just love blues! Navy, baby blue, royal blue, you name it, I love it.

So when I was deciding on a manicure to do using my newly acquired striping tape I, of course, reached for 2 different shades of blue.

For this manicure I painted all my nails using Sephora by OPI Havana Dreams except my ring finger which I used butter LONDON Royal Navy. I let the polish dry completely then I added striping tape.

Instead of lining the tape up with my cuticle (like I did with my last striping tape manicure) I started the striping tape on the skin below my cuticle and extended it past the tip of my nail. This ensures a clean line.

I only needed one coat of Royal Navy over Havana Dreams however making Havana dreams show up over Royal Navy was a bit difficult. I ended putting down a white polish first (Ulta Snow White) and then one coat of Havana Dreams. This worked but it didn’t allow the tape to leave the cleanest line. Using one coat of polish is definitely ideal!

That being said I’m fairly sure no one noticed the slightly imperfect line except for me. I got a tone of compliments the day I wore this manicure!

  1. This is a lovely combo. Royal Navy looks like it might be the perfect navy blue- not too dark so that it’s impossible to tell it is navy and not too blue (if you know what I mean).

What do you think?
