Essie Lots of Lux

Essie Lots of Lux coverAfter the disaster (seriously, is there a stronger word? Because it is applicable here…) that was Essie Belugaria I was more or less terrified to try Lots of Lux. I was worried another clumpy disaster was waiting for me. Luckily, that was not the case!

Essie describes Lots of Lux as shimmering lapis lazuli with a superfine matte finish. Well, when I hear lapis and Essie in the same sentence I automatically think of one of my all time favorite Essie polishes; Lapis of Luxury. This polish is nothing like that! Lots of Lux is a medium blue textured polish with aqua glitter. It’s a more jewel toned version of OPI Alcatraz…Rocks and it is seriously gorgeous. I couldn’t stop looking at my nails when I was wearing this polish!

The formula was great. It was easy to work with and I needed just two coats.

I haven’t seen this collection in stores yet but it should be popping up soon. Currently, Essie’s Encrusted Treasures collection is available online at Ulta and Dermstore.

Make sure to check out the swatches under the jump! Especially the pictures taken outside 🙂

Much better than Belugaria (“tarred & glittered” was the best description!)!

It begs the question though….if essie can do good textured polishes why did they release such a bad one!
