Back in the day (meaning a few years ago….) when OPI released their matte collection I was completely obsessed with the Russian Navy MATTE promo image. OBSESSED I tell you. My disappoint when Russian Navy MATTE turned out to be a flat, horrible mess was great.
I was pretty excited when I saw Julep was including a satin finish navy polish in their November 2013 It Girl box. My hope was it would be what I wanted Russian Navy Matte to be and lucky for me it absolutely is.
Lola is a deep navy matte creme (or a moonlit night blue satin). It is that satin finish so it has a bit of a sheen to it which prevents it from falling flat on the nail.
The formula is lovely. I used two coats in my swatches.
I really love this polish. It’s exactly what I’ve always wanted in a matte, navy polish. Plus, it wears incredibly well! I Intagramed a picture of my nails on day 3 and while there is tip wear there were zero chips. That’s super impressive for a matte finish polish!
While I wasn’t in love with Winter, another polish from the November It Girl box, this polish totally makes up for it!
There are, of course, swatches under the jump!
