Sephora by OPI Havana Dreams

Sephora by OPI Havana Dreams bottleY’all. I have wanted this polish for SO LONG! When I saw Havana Dreams was part of the Sephora by OPI event on HauteLook I had to pick it up.

Havana Dreams is a pale light blue creme. It’s not quite as bright as OPI What’s With The Cattitude? and a bit more pastel than Sally Hansen Barracuda.

The color is lovely….the formula isn’t. This polish is very thin and runny. I used 4 very carefully applied coats in my swatches.

While I love the color (and the name…) the formula makes this polish really not worth it.

I’ve tried quite a few polish from Sephora by OPI (including another I got from HauteLook; Ms. Can’t Be Wrong) and they all had wonderful formulas. So this is definitely a disappointment!

Sephora is in the process of eliminating the Sephora by OPI line from stores in favor of their new Formula X for Sephora line of polishes, though this polish is still available on the Sephora website in gelshine line. Tempting….

As always, there are swatches below the jump! I’ll be posting this manicure at a later time but I did use this in a little nail art that I already posted over on TDV Instagram 🙂

  1. hooray for the Hautelook order arrival! This polish is so pretty. It was one of the SOPIs I had my eye on but let it go. I love the name Havana Dreams, too!

  2. Lovely colour. For once I’m glad I can’t have it, seen that the formula is not great. I already have Borrowed & Blue amidst a sea of baby blues anyway. 🙂

I had this and couldn’t stand the formula… I needed FIVE coats (I guess mine maybe weren’t as careful as yours)… So it went to the giveaway pile… seeing your swatches makes me want it again though it is a gorgeous color!!!

  4. […] 3. Pale Blue: A classic springtime color if there ever was one! Most spring polish collections include a pale blue and all seem to have a creme finish. This is great as I’m sure most of us already have this polish in our collection. My favorite polish in this color range is Julep Jessica. The formula is pure perfection; a hard thing to find in pale blues. Other good options include Essie Find Me An Oasis and Sephora by OPI Havana Dreams. […]
