China Glaze There’s Snow One Like You

China Glaze There's Snow One Like You CoverLet me start by saying I loved the China Glaze Texture collection that came out over the summer. Of Coarse! and Bump & Grind were a couple of my favorite polishes from the summer nail polish releases. So when I saw China Glaze was including a textured polish in their Holiday 2013 Happy HoliGlaze collection I knew I had to try it.

So imagine my shock and horror when I discover There’s Snow One Like You is literally the worst nail polish to ever be produced. And I’m not exaggerating.

China Glaze describes There’s Snow One Like You as a white textured polish with matte white glitter. In theory it sounds promising. In reality it’s a total disaster.

The formula is chunky. And impossible to apply.

If you actually manage to get it on your nails in any sort of acceptable form the finish is so thick and lumpy it’s not even worth all that effort. And this was all after using only 2, very thin coats.

I sent my friend Tyler the same picture I posted on Instagram. Her response was priceless. “It looks like freezer burn. You know, like the steak you forgot about and find in the back of your freezer.”

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Obviously China Glaze was going for a textured polish that would look like snow. I see what they were trying to do but it just didn’t work. Honestly, if you want a manicure that looks like snow and is actually wearable give a white DIY Velvet Manicure a try.

At this current moment I cannot think of a way to even use this polish. Perhaps I’ll be able to figure out some kind of nail art (a snow man, perhaps?) but I’m not optimistic.

The train wreck continues under the jump!

  1. omgoodness, no, just no. I really have been on the look out for a white textured polish. I was hoping Zoya would do a pretty white Pixie Dust. I was really excited bc it sounded promising but dang. I think it would ahve been okay without those round glitter chunks. Maybe….probably not lol.

  2. I bought the CG textures last spring and HATED them (I know, some loved them and some didn’t, matter of taste I guess). I didn’t think they could do worse. I should not have thought that apparently…

Sorry to hear about your experience. I don’t know what CG is thinking here. It reminds me of a medical condition (oh yarg, nuff said).

  5. It works better if you use a white polished underneath. It actually turned out good for me. I had to play with it though

What do you think?
