Anyway, I’m always reading how you should mix a high cost piece from your closet with a low cost piece. This way the outfit is nice and balanced.
Well, oddly, that’s what I did with this manicure! And it worked quite well.
For the base I used deborah lippmann Lilac Wine. It’s a very flattering pale purple creme but also on the expensive side at $17. To top Lilac Wine off I used 2 coats China Glaze Bling It On which I picked up at Sallys for a cool $1.45 (and that even included tax).
Bling It On is from China Glaze’s Glitz Bitz ‘N Pieces collection. The collection featured glitter top coats that looked interesting but I never had the urge to pick one up. When I saw Bling It On at Sallys for a bargain price I decided to give it a go. The combination of black and violet glitter worked really well over Lilac Wine.
I loved this manicure! It was a perfect Sunday funday mani. And then I had to take it off. This glitter is a pain to take off but still totally worth it.
There are oodles of swatches below the jump 🙂
