Cover Girl Orange Oasis

CoverGirl Orange OasisI picked this polish up ages ago when the CoverGirl Glosstinis display was popping up at drugstores over the summer. Between the tiny bottle and the not so appealing orange color it kind of got lost in the shuffle.

Recently I’ve rediscovered CoverGirl nail polish. I loved Out Of the Blue but I was straight up impressed with Silver Lining. So when I saw Orange Oasis sitting among my untried polishes I figured it was time to give it a try.

Orange Oasis is a bright orange creme with pretty distinct yellow undertones. Not the best color for me but this is a polish that would look amazing on those with warmer skintones (particularly with a tan!).

The formula wasn’t as good as I was expecting. It’s not bad (I needed three coats to get full opacity) but the other CoverGirl polishes I’ve tried have AMAZING formulas. So I was a bit disappointed.

I also found applying this a bit difficult. The Glosstinis bottles are much smaller than the regular Outlast polish bottles (.11oz vs .5oz). Between the wide cap and the short brush the application was a bit uncomfortable.

While I find the glosstinis bottles to be ADORABLE the amount of polish for the price ($3-$4) isn’t so great. Unless there’s a particularly unique color in the glosstinis line, in the future I’m sticking to the regular Outlast polishes.

I’m not sure about the availability of this polish in drugstores but it is available from drugstore.com (along with the rest of the glosstini line).

There are swatches below the jump as well as a comparison between the Outlast polish bottle the tiny glosstinis bottle.

Make sure to check out Katie’s review of another polish from the glosstinis line; Appletini!

  1. I like the Outlast line and if these were regular size I would try some but no way am I going to pay that much and then have to deal with a tiny brush/handle/cap to paint with. I love some of the colors I’ve seen and numerous times I’ve even had them in my basket, but before I even leave the cosmetics aisle I remember my dislike for minis and then there is the storage issue, so it goes back on the display every time.

  2. I bought this during the summer. I don’t look good in orange and would have never picked it up except that my daughter (age 5) was begging for orange so I could put pumpkins on her fingernails. I guess now that October is here, it’s time I find this color in my collection and get to work! Lol

What do you think?
