Avon Gel Finish Royal Vendetta

Avon Gel Finish Royal Vendetta (+ a wear test!)

Avon Gel Finish Royal VendettaA while ago I heard rumors that Avon was coming out with a new line of “Gel Finish” polishes. Most of the gel finish/long wearing polishes I’ve tried aren’t any better than a regular polish so I wasn’t all that interested. That is until I saw Royal Vendetta.

Royal Vendetta is a gorgeous royal blue creme. I have a serious soft spot for these kinds of polishes so when I was placing an Avon order I decided to add Royal Vendetta to my order.

I didn’t order this polish for the claims that it comes with but I will share them none the less. Avon claims this is a 7 in 1 polish. The 7 things are as follows:

  1. Shine
  2. Gel-like Finish
  3. Vivid Color
  4. Base Coat
  5. Top Coat
  6. Protection
  7. Strengthener

Quite a list of claims!

The directions on the back of the box were a bit unusual. When applying this polish you are supposed to let the polish dry completely before applying the next coat of polish.

While I do like to test all the claims from a polish I was not going to put blue nail polish on my nails without a base coat (that’s smurf nails waiting to happen). I applied a coat of my go to base coat; Amour Sticky Base before Royal Vendetta.

The formula is really nice. It’s very opaque and applies smoothly and evenly. I used two coats (letting the first coat dry before applying a second). I did not use a top coat.

Royal Vendetta looked gorgeous on my nails (I got a ton of compliments when I was wearing it). The color was bright and the finish was super shiny. I didn’t buy this polish thinking it was going to be a long wearing polish but I did wear it for a full week. Y’all, 7 whole days wearing the same polish. That’s crazy for me. And even when I took Royal Vendetta off it still looked good. I am truly impressed.

The only thing I noticed over the 7 days was the finish did dull a bit and I had some slight, barely noticeable tip wear. Below the jump are pictures of my nails from each of the 7 days I wore this polish.

When I think of Avon I think of my beloved Moisture Therapy body lotion and Skin So Soft shave gel, I do not think of nail polish. But this polish has changed my view of Avon’s nail polish.

The Gel Finish line is $7 a bottle and can be ordered from the Avon website (or your Avon rep). I paid full price for Royal Vendetta but I’m hoping there will be a sale soon because I’m dying to try other colors!

Below the jump are quite a few swatches including my 7 day wear test!

I’m crazy about gel finishes… Not all last so well for seven days, but I often get a good five days out of them. Beautiful blue, BTW.

I’ve never had a polish last as well as this one did. I’m so impressed!

Very beautiful color. I’m a blue addict! I can’t believe how long it lasted and still looked good. I may have to give Avon a new chance.

It had been ages since I used a polish from Avon. I was skeptical but I’m so glad I gave it a go!

Do you have the ingredients list for this? I love the colours but try to use 3-free minimum, preferably 5. Fingers crossed..
