One night I found myself late for a date so a full blown mani wasn’t an option. I decided to grab a polish from the JulieG Frosted Gumdrops collection and it just so happened that my very rarely used bottle of Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat in Fractured Foil was in the same drawer. So I began to wonder; what would happen if I put a crackle polish over a textured polish?
So that’s what I tried! After I applied 2 coats of JulieG Rock Candy, of course.
As it turns out, the crackle polish didn’t really crack. Instead as I brushed on Fractured Foil it stuck to the raised part of the textured polish. The result was a very subtle brushed look that I wasn’t at all expecting but really quite liked.
There are swatches below the jump. I only used the Fractured Foil on my ring finger nail. And it is very, very subtle. So subtle in fact, I considered not posting this manicure at all! But it is something else that can be done with the shatter /crackle / whateveryouwanttocallit polishes. And it’s also a way to transform the textured polishes in your collection. All good info to have if you’re a crazy nail addict like me!
