Polish & Co Mint To Tell U

Polish & Co Mint To Tell U

Polish & Co Mint To Tell UI’m really excited I finally got to try a polish from Polish & Co! It’s a brand I’ve had my eye on for quite a while as it’s based right up the road from me in Greensboro, North Carolina and sold in a local boutique called Blush. For one reason or another I just kept putting off picking up a bottle until, to my shock and delight, there was a Polish & Co event on HauteLook. Instead of the normal $12 a bottle price tag, HauteLook was selling the polishes for $6. I ordered Mint To Tell U along with Code 9.

Mint To Tell U is a slightly dusty (read not chalky) mint green creme. This is definitely not one of those blue leaning mints but the slightly yellow undertones are not easy to detect making this polish almost neutral. This makes Mint To Tell U a very flattering mint green. Something that isn’t the easiest to find!

What I found really impressive about this polish was the formula.

I was wearing this on Friday when I was out with my friend Tyler. At one point during the night she grabbed my hand and excitedly asked “is that Essie Turquoise & Caicos!?”. Tyler (like many of us!) has long been obsessed with Turquoise & Caicos and insisted on picking it up even though I warned her about the dreadful formula. So, when I told her no, I was not wearing Turquoise & Caicos I was actually wearing Mint To Tell U that is, wait for it, A ONE COATER her eyes jumped out of her head.

Applying this polish was kind of strange because I applied one coat and realized when I examined my nails I didn’t need a second. Even more shocking, despite the fact this polish can be applied in one coat, the formula isn’t thick or difficult to work with. I found application to be easy and smooth.

On Saturday I was looking at my nails expecting at least some tip wear. Especially after a Friday night out. I was surprised to find none. This polish wears beautifully.

If this experience is indicative of the rest of the polishes from Polish & Co I can’t wait to try more! It’s worth noting that Polish & Co polishes are 5 free, cruelty free and made in the US(of)A.

Below the jump there are a slew of swatches as well as pictures of the bottle, label and the packaging.

Polish & Co is available on the Polish & Co website (free shipping with the purchase of 2 polishes) and in select salons and boutiques. If there is another HauteLook event I will be sure to let y’all know!

Are you addicted to mint greens, by any chance? 😉

I’ve had so many issues with the formulas in this color range in the past. So glad to find a one coater!

I have found a one-coater earlier this week – Essie LadyLike. It didn’t look good against my skin, but I may try again and jazz it up with some top coat like Pink Yet Lavender…

So…funny story. I have Essie Lady Like but it’s from way back in 2007. I was like…..wait….that’s no where near a one coater!

Katie has the more recent Lady Like and does like it but definitely not the most interesting polish int he world. Could definitely use some glitter!

This is gorgeous! I’ll have to get it once I run out of Turquoise and Caicos.

Isn’t it, though? And none of the fuss!

BTW, Alli, have you tried Essie Mint Candy Apple?

Ages ago. I never liked it much. Too chalky for me, if I remember correctly…

Yep – it’d be too chalky and lobstery for you.

Yeah, something about that polish really pulled the red out in my skintone.

            If I still have it I’ll reswatch it 🙂 I’m sure I do…

What do you think?
