I wish I could provide a good explanation as to why I didn’t pick this polish up last fall when OPI released their Germany collection. It didn’t really jump out at me in the display for some reason and I was really into gray polishes at the time (hence why I ended up with Berlin There, Done That and Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine!). Either way, I regret that decision now!
Thanks to the OPI event on HauteLook I ended up with this polish. When it arrived with the other polishes I ordered I still wasn’t completely excited about it. In the bottle it kind of looks like Midnight in Moscow part 2. But as it turns out, this is a polish that should not be judged by its appearance in the bottle.
Every Month is Oktoberfest is a complicated polish. When I started to apply it I was shocked that the base color is not black but in fact a blue based purple. The shimmer is red, purple and gold. This makes for a polish with alot of depth. It’s truly gorgeous and unique in my collection that is full of dark, shimmery polishes!
The formula is good. I used three coats in all my swatches.
I ended up really loving this polish therefore this manicure went through a few different stages because I didn’t want to take it off! I added two coats of Deborah Lippmann Good Girl Gone Bad (which I have yet to wear on its own) as an accent nail. A day later I added studs (for a tutorial on how to do a studded manicure click here). The result was a manicure that I do think may be my favorite manicure of all time. No, really.
Below the jump there are swatches (many, many swatches) of every stage of this manicure. Including pictures in the sun. Every Month is Oktoberfest is gorgeous in the sun, y’all!
OPI did add this polish to their permanent line so it should be easy to find in stores as well as online at places like drugstore.com.
