Nail Art: Auburn Acid Wash & Glitter

Auburn Nail Art Joran-Hare StadiumFootball season is almost here! It’s so close I can almost smell it.

Tonight I’m going to the annual Charlotte SEC kick off event. Every year, the weekend before football season starts, the alumni chapters for all the SEC schools get together and throw a huge tailgating event. Everyone wears their school colors (and some people wear temporary tattoos on their face…), fight songs play, there’s cornhole….it’s a good time. And a nice chance for everyone to hang out before things become, uh, tense. College football is serious business in the south.

I haven’t decided what I’m going to do with my nails for tonight’s event. Last year I did a mix and match mani with glitter and tiger stripes. I love the way that manicure turned out. I might end up doing something similar. Or, perhaps, I’ll do something like the manicure I wore when I went to Auburn this past May.

Yes, this manicure is from May, but it didn’t feel appropriate to post it until now. I did an Auburn Acid Wash using Orly Star of Bombay and OPI Hot & Spicy on 4 nails. On the ring finger I used China Glaze Dandy Lyin’ Around and PISTOL polish Run the World. Then I added a tiny temporary AU tattoo.

It was perfect for visiting campus. Though kind of a pain to do!

There’s a more formal swatch below the jump.

Is anyone else as excited as I am for football season to start? I can’t wait!

  1. Love the acid wash manicure, I’ve done loads of them. My bottle of OPI black onyx gets replaced about once a year. Orange under black is great for Halloween.

Football is meh for me, though. Oh well, look at it this way, pobody’s nerfect. 🙂

What do you think?
