OPI Peace & Love & OPI (+ a dupe)

OPI Peace & Love & OPI bottleHow fun is the name of this polish? If my world consisted of peace and love and OPI I’d be one happy girl!

When I spotted the display for the fall 2013 OPI San Francisco collection, Peace & Love & OPI was by far the most interesting polish in the bottle. That being said, it did remind me of quite a few polishes I have in my collection. I was interested to get it home and see how it compared.

Peace & Love & OPI is a steel gray metallic packed with shimmer that shifts between green and purple.

This polish definitely doesn’t sound unique. Off the top of my head, similar polishes in my collection include essence Where is the Party?, OPI Not Like the Movies, NARS Disco Inferno and wet n wild Gray’s Anatomy. But one thing does set this polish apart from all of those polishes; the formula. This is almost a one coater. The formula is fantastic. All of the other similar polishes I have tried have absolutely dreadful formulas.

That being said, there is a dupe in both formula and color; Essie For The Twill Of It. Both For The Twill Of It and Peace & Love & OPI are from recently released collections. I marginally prefer the OPI, but that has more to do with the brush and name than it does the actual polish.

Below the jump there are a slew of swatches including a comparison of Peace & Love & OPI with Essie For The Twill Of It as well as a picture of Peace & Love & OPI in the sun. Outdoor light does amazing things to this polish!

Make sure to check our reviews of Incognito is Sausalito and I Knead Sour-Dough also from the San Francisco collection.

PS: Peace & Love & OPI is included in the mini set for this collection ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. It’s also a VERY close match for Essence Colour & Go “Chic Reloaded” which is a smidge darker grey but with the same exact duochrome.

    1. Chic Reloaded is what they renamed Where’s the Party when they switched packaging. Not my favorite, for one reason or another the darker base is really off putting to me, but yes, very similar.

    1. The Essie is a dead on dupe. The others aren’t 100% dupes but unless you’re just REALLY in to polishes like that, if you already have a couple, I’d pass on this one.
