The first of the month is becoming one of my favorite days because without fail my monthly package from PISTOL polish arrives. I’m always excited to see what polishes the ladies at PISTOL polish come up with every month. This is the 7th duo I’ve gotten and I’ve yet to be disappointed!
When I opened the August box I was really excited. If I could only wear one nail polish color for the rest of my existence it would be a dark, shimmery purple. So, to say the least, I was instantly excited about Riots, Not Diets. Nitty Gritty Pretty didn’t instantly jump out at me but it did win me over.
Also, I have to point out, the names of this month’s colors are AMAZING!
Below the jump are reviews of each polish plus and an additional way I wore each.

Nitty Gritty Pretty: At first glance I thought this was just another pink creme. Boring, right? Well, when I got it on my nails I realized this was actually a fabulous pink creme. It’s a light pink that has the tiniest bit of dustiness to it making it almost universally flattering. It doesn’t look chalky. It doesn’t make my skin look red. It just looks classy and chic.
The formula is fantastic (a theme with all of the polishes I’ve tried from PISTOL). I used just two coats in my swatches.
I loved this polish so much I found myself wearing it on a Saturday afternoon. I didn’t want to completely redo my nails so I topped it with PISTOL polish Run The World. The result was GORGEOUS!
Riots, Not Diets: Hello, new love of my life! I have a long, long time obsession with dark purple polishes. I just love them! Riots, Not Diets is a blackened purple packed with sparkle. The color is gorgeous. And really comes alive in the sun!
Not surprisingly, the formula is wonderful. I did use three coats to give this polish a bit more depth. The extra sparkle was worth the extra coat.
I added an accent nail to this manicure with PISTOL polish Going for Gold. I was, am still kind of am, obsessed with that manicure!
