Subtlety isn’t exactly my thing….nail polish or otherwise. But, subtle nail polishes are a necessity in any collection. I like to find ones that aren’t boring and have a little something extra to them.
Splash of Grenadine is from Essie’s 2013 Resort collection which happens to be one of my all time favorites from Essie. Initially when I picked up Splash of Grenadine I didn’t think I’d like it but as soon as I got it on the nail I fell in love!
Essie describes Splash of Grenadine as a (playful) magenta pink. I don’t think it’s bright enough to call it anything near magenta. It’s just a pink with significant purple undertones. The purple in this polish is what makes it unique and really quite flattering. I hate it when pinks get chalky.
The formula is a bit on the thin side. I used 3 coats in my swatches and was happy with the result.
This polish wears extremely well. I ended up topping it off with OPI Polka.com after a few days and it looked gorgeous!
I love rediscovering old favorites! There are additional swatches below the jump 🙂
